Power of the V8! Sometimes, a few minutes make a car immortal. The "King of Cool" Steve McQueen and his '68 Ford Mustang shown in "Bullitt" were the perfect team. The chase to cool jazz music with a black '68 Dodge Charger through San Francisco was legendary, and because of their small film defects - the charger of the Mafia killer, for example, looses more hub caps than it really should have. At the end of the movie, the charger crashes into a gas station and explodes, while the cop can save his Mustang Bullitt and escapes undamaged looking at the inferno with his blue eyes.
